mike tyson

Knocking out a 7 – 8 hours tyson portrait.

crystal methods.

i must say lately i’ve been rather inspired hugely by shapes and forms and lines.. or rather its been quite a fascination for some time to come, i have always embrace cubism and abstraction.. breaking through and through breaking, patterns and new shapes will enterforth.  the way i interpret everyday objects is through breaking them up into smaller pieces visually sensing both the light that hits and the shadows that follows… the purpose?  to recreate them into a new crust when my mind reattaches. Personally i really do enjoy the process of defining this and it has all the while been really natural and purely it is created with zero intent.

Constant exploration is vital as it creates non stagnance of our mortal mind.. a rolling stone gathers no moss.. its not about staying. but its about staying.. staying gold solid whilst engineering concepts such as movement and progression.

Came across a nice poem by mother theresa, thought i’ll just share it here…

“People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, People may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, as it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you’ve anyway.
You see, in the final analysis it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway”

This is a partial back section of a full coverup project consisting of color portraits of girls portrayed in a very dark and gothic flavour. This piece was inspired by an artwork of a New York based surrealist/gothic artist David Stoupakis.

eujin’s grandmother portrait

Eujin from Penang came for his grandmother’s portrait..there are only few pictures that he liked and is the best of all that he has of her… I worked on the one picture that he like the most, which turns out to be the smallest of all pictures that he has!

The final result after a good 6  hours sitting, a very beautiful picture of an old lady smiling with her wrinkles and age showing etched forever on her grandson.

pure satisfaction.

grandma’s portrait.
