An ancient Chinese scholar Zhou Dun Yi once said: “I love the lotus because while growing from mud, it is unstained.”
I love the growing processing of the lotus just like life in general. Started small in a pond with mud, working its way towards sunlight, coming out of the surface and finally blossom into a beautiful flower. It is harsh, but a better person does not come without hard work and failure.
The Chinese characters signify the good and evil in oneself with the gap representing thinking twice while making decision.
Overall, it’s a constant reminder for me to stay true to myself in a world of changes and uncertainties.

All the way from Newcastle, it is always a great satisfaction when someone flies in from such a distance particularly with a priority to get this tattoo fixed by me. It was a straight 6-7 hours of pure sweat and blood..  It was definitely a great pleasure working on your skin Davey!

Til next time.. :>
